Thailand reveals it’s official population of 2017 has reached 66 millions.

On March 14,2017 the Director General of the Department of Public Administration,the Ministry of Interior,Mr. Arthit Boonyasophat, makes an announcement on important  national information.He has made public of several categories of information. One of the most important topics is the official population of the country. Right now Thailand population has already reached 66 millions.

Some important categories on the announcement  are as follows:

1.Regional Administration

Thailand now has 76  provinces, 878 districts, 7,255  subdistricts  or Tambon, and 75,132 villages or Moo ban.

2.Local Administration

Thailand has 76 Provincial Administration Organizations or PAO aka Or Bor Jor. In Thai this is องค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัด.

The next local administration is City Municipality and there are 31 City Minicipalities (such as Khon Kaen City Municipality, Nakhonratchasima City Municipality, and Ubon Ratchathani City Municipality). The third category is Distinct Municipality and there altogether 178 City Municipalities. The fourth category is the subdistrict municipality, and there are 2,233 subdistrict municipalities throughout the country.

The last category is the special form of local administration under which there are  Pattaya City and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration or BMA.

As for the the most recent registered population, the following chart shows that Thailand present population is 65,931,550.
